Greggory Cates

Founder & CEO

I built a few successful small businesses and sold the last one in 2004.
I then asked myself “What does someone—who can do anything—do?”
My answer was to dedicate myself to helping others. Over the years, I had read 30,000+ research articles and earned undergrad degrees that gave me a basic understanding of the world around me. I came to the conclusion that the best way to help my species (and the planet we live on) was to design replacement civilizations, a task so hard that it should take me the rest of my life to accomplish. If successful, the ripple effect across humanity could potentially maximize the benefits for us all.
Out of this epiphany, Global Citizen was born in 2003 to create a future where we (and future generations) could live sustainably, in harmony with each other and the world around us.
For me, this was the foundation of Sustainable Civilization Design.

With 20+ years’ experience in both public and private sectors,
Mr. Cate’s passion lies in research and design development for sustainable human civilizations. While leading large-scale sustainable projects, Greggory has influence in the areas of design, engineering, construction, project administration as well as QA/QC.
He is currently Lead Project Manager for a leading AEC and Design firm.
Greggory has built a number of successful small businesses, and cultivated relationships with technology companies in Silicon Valley and beyond. His entrepreneurial spirit and design capabilities are just two of the driving forces behind his innovations.
He is often a chosen speaker and has presented research at

• South Africa Department of Energy
• U.S. Army Corp of Engineers
• San Francisco State University Scholastically, he has been awarded the following degrees— MBA (International Business & Strategy) Masters in International Agricultural Development (IAD), Sustainable Agroecosystems

local law office.
Among his many talents,
Brian is extremely proficient
in technological operations
and specializes in computer
system installations and
integration in addition to
coding and web
development. Brian is also
highly trained and skilled in
advanced communications.

Kimberley Graham

Operations Manager/Director of GSD*

Kimberley Graham joined Global Citizen
in 2012, providing a myriad of support
for the various and ongoing projects. In
conjunction with wearing multiple hats
(and titles), she has a combined 30+
years of administrative and construction
experience in both public and private
sectors. Like Greggory, Kimberley is an
entrepreneurial creator and innovator in
her own right.
She currently holds a Bachelors degree in
Industrial & Organizational Psychology
and plans to attend law school in hopes
of securing a JD in the field of Intellectual
Property and Indigenous Knowledge.

Sold previous company (Redpoint) and
started work on an MBA in
International Business and Strategy

2004

During MBA work started design replacement civilization products and corporate philosophy

2006

Awarded MS in International Business & Strategy

2007

After a visit to a Soweto township in Johannesburg South Africa, preliminary design work began on mine dumps conversions to resolve environmental impacts, energy shortages and water supply issues

2009

Completed research on Solar Powered Insect collection devices & BioEnergy Conversion Presented Research at Adiascom Africa Conference at UNESCO – Paris, France

2013

After a visit to a Soweto township in South Africa, initiated preliminary design work on mine dumps

2015

Awarded MS International Agricultural Development (Ecology & Sustainable Agroecology) Preliminary design concept of K-Light

2016

Presented SA Mine Dumps Conversion Research at conference in Johannesburg, SA to the South African DOE

2019-2020

COVID – 19 halts manufacturing and production of 1 st generation of the GoWatz 300 portable power units Product design work continues

2022

Completed Preliminary design work for 30 pieces of civilization infrastructure

2023

initiall Shipment of GOWATZ 300 Portable Initial shipment of GoWatz 300 portable power stations distributed between US and South Africa

2025
